Burns’ postulates

The idea that each student in unique and differs from his/her colleagues is accepted unanimously in the university environment. This axiom could be described more properly through Burns’ postulates.

  1. There aren’t two students progressing at the same rate.
  2. There aren’t two students who are ready to learn at the same time.
  3. There aren’t two students using the same learning techniques.
  4. There aren’t two students who would solve problems in the same way.
  5. There aren’t two students possessing the same behavioural repertoire.
  6. There aren’t two students possessing the same profile of interests.
  7. There aren’t two students who are motivated in the same way to reach the same goals.
